数词分两队：数"有几个"的叫基数词（one, two, three…），排"第几名"的叫序数词（first, second, third…）。数数用基数，排队用序数。
基数词（表示数量）：one, two, three…
拼写要盯紧的几个：thirteen（13）、fifteen（15）、twenty（20）、twenty-one（21）、forty（40，没有 u！）
序数词（表示第几）：基数词加 th，但开头三个最特殊
first（第 1）、second（第 2）、third（第 3）——就像领奖台上的前三名，写法各有各的样。
其他一般加 th：fourth、sixth、tenth…
变化特殊的要单独记：fifth（第 5）、eighth（第 8）、ninth（第 9）、twelfth（第 12）、twentieth（第 20）、twenty-first（第 21）
口诀
基变序，有诀窍：一二三，特殊记；th 结尾跑不掉；ve 要变 f（→）；几十几，只变个位（twenty-first）。
序数词的用法
前面通常加 the：the first day of the week（一周的第一天）
日期用序数词：June 1st（读 June the first）——儿童节就是这一天！
楼层、名次：on the third floor（在三楼）、win the first prize（得一等奖）
时间表达
7:00 → seven o'clock · 7:30 → half past seven / seven thirty（过了半小时）
7:15 → a quarter past seven（过了一刻钟） · 7:45 → a quarter to eight（差一刻钟到八点）
