主谓一致就是“谓语动词的单复数要跟主语保持一致”，是中考单选和短文改错的常客。
一、语法一致：形式上单数配单数、复数配复数
My brother likes sports. / My brothers like sports.
动名词、不定式作主语，谓语用单数：
Reading English aloud is helpful.（大声朗读英语很有帮助。）
从句作主语，谓语用单数：What he said is true.（他说的是真的。）
二、意义一致：看实际表达的意思
family、class、team 这类集体名词，指“整体”用单数，指“成员”用复数：
My family is a happy one.（我家是幸福的一家。）
My family are watching TV.（家里人都在看电视。）
the police、people 总是当复数：The police are looking for the thief.
形式是复数、意义是单数的词用单数：The news is exciting.（news 不可数。）
each、every、everyone、nobody 作主语或修饰主语，谓语用单数：
Every boy and girl likes the game.
三、就近一致：谓语跟离它最近的那个主语走
There is a pen and two books on the desk.
Either you or he is right.（要么你对，要么他对。）
Not only the students but also the teacher likes the film.
四、不受干扰的情况（重点）
with、together with、as well as、besides、including 连接的部分不影响谓语，
谓语只跟前面的主语走：
Tom, together with his parents, is going to Beijing.（谓语跟 Tom 走，用 is。）
五、a number of 与 the number of
a number of + 复数名词 + 复数谓语（许多……）：A number of students are in the library.
the number of + 复数名词 + 单数谓语（……的数量）：The number of the students is about 800.
口诀
主谓一致三条路：语法、意义、就近走；together with 不算数，谓语只跟前面走。
